German Pattern Award 2026/27: SEAMONE among Germany’s top sewing pattern labels

SEAMONE is one of the winners of the German Pattern Award 2026/27 – and I’m absolutely delighted. The award is presented by “Nähen für Doofies und Fortgeschrittene – Das Blaue Tuch”, one of the largest sewing groups on Facebook with around 184,000 members. Here you’ll find out what the award is about, what the jury says about my patterns and which sewing patterns are at the heart of it.

What is the German Pattern Award?

With the German Pattern Award, the team behind Das Blaue Tuch honours sewing pattern labels from Germany. For the award, they look at many, many designers and hand-pick the top 80. Alongside well-known names such as Burda Style, Fadenkäfer and Lillesol & Pelle, SEAMONE is now on the list too.

Troyers, jumpers and vests for fans of colour blocking

“A lovely, small but fine selection of troyer patterns, jumpers and vests. Perfect for fans of colour blocking!”

Jury of the German Pattern Award 2026/27, Das Blaue Tuch

Lovely praise – because that’s exactly what matters to me: a few, well thought-out patterns, cleanly drafted and in many sizes.

Many of my patterns have panel seams. They give the garment its shape – and they make colour blocking easy: every panel is an area you can fill with a different colour or fabric. It’s also a lovely way to use up fabric scraps, and every piece becomes one of a kind.

Tip for your colour blocking: choose similar fabrics, so the fit and the ease stay as intended.

What makes my sewing patterns special

I’m a qualified textile and clothing technician – pattern drafting and grading are my craft. This is what you can rely on with every pattern:

In the instructions

  • A logical, step-by-step structure that beginners can follow too
  • Taking measurements with a figure illustration, ease and choosing your size explained, plus a fit scale from close-fitting to loose
  • A size chart with body measurements, finished measurements and fabric requirements for every size
  • Adjustments such as FBA and SBA (full or small bust) with illustrations
  • An overview of all pattern pieces with piece numbers
  • A clickable PDF with bookmarks and links, so you can jump straight to your variation

On the pattern sheets

  • Three formats: A4 for home printing, A0 for the copy shop and a projector file
  • Layers: every size sits on its own layer – hide the others and print only your size
  • Each size in its own colour; the projector file with black lines
  • A4 with a tiling layout, cut-and-glue numbers and a page overview on the cover sheet
  • A0 on two sheets to save paper, with no overlapping pieces

Extra pages for every pattern

  • Every pattern has its own extra page: the instructions to download, the sewing video, the size calculator, help with printing a single size and the lookbook, all in one place
  • The QR code on the pattern sheet takes you straight there – one scan and you have the instructions and video to hand

The patterns behind the award

These five sewing patterns stand for what the jury describes. All of them are available as a PDF for A4, A0 and projector – and each one comes with a sewing video on YouTube.

Kvill women’s troyer jumper sewing pattern, sewn – yellow troyer jumper, front view

Kvill

Women’s troyer jumper · EU 34–54

A relaxed troyer jumper with a nautical look and a square neckline at its heart. Choose between a hood, a shawl collar and a stand-up collar with zip. Kvill looks best in sailor knit or knit fabric, combined with ribbing for the stand-up collar.

Kalix women’s hoodie sewing pattern, sewn – light blue oversized jumper with navy panels and stand-up collar

Kalix

Women’s oversized hoodie · EU 30–60

A relaxed oversized jumper with panels and slightly dropped shoulders. Choose between a hood, a stand-up collar or a simple binding, plus a large or a small kangaroo pocket. The panels are perfect for colour blocking and using up scraps. Kalix is also suitable for beginners.

Spliid women’s hoodie sewing pattern, sewn – jumper colour-blocked in olive green and white with zip

Spliid

Women’s hoodie & sweat jacket · EU 34–54

A relaxed hooded jumper with panels on the front, back and sleeves, a shoulder band and a kangaroo pocket. With a facing, the same pattern becomes a sweat jacket with an open-ended zip – with a hood or a neckband.

Vendla women’s reversible gilet sewing pattern, sewn – light grey fleece gilet with pockets, front view

Vendla

Women’s reversible gilet · EU 34–54

On one side a quilted gilet in oilskin or outdoor fabric with heart-shaped yokes and large patch pockets; turned inside out, a teddy or fleece gilet with a chest pocket and welt pockets. That makes Vendla a gilet for autumn and winter.

Møn women’s waistcoat sewing pattern, sewn – fitted waistcoat in dark denim with buttons

Møn

Women’s waistcoat · EU 34–54

A fitted waistcoat in the style of a suit waistcoat: fully lined, with a button placket and flattering panel seams. Sewn in denim or corduroy, it becomes an autumn waistcoat; in linen, a light summer one. Møn is also suitable for beginners.
