Vendla is a sewing pattern for a women’s reversible gilet in sizes 32 to 52: on one side a quilted gilet in oilskin or outdoor fabric with heart-shaped yokes and large patch pockets, and turned inside out a teddy or fleece gilet with a chest pocket and welt pockets. That makes Vendla a gilet for autumn and winter. A sewing video on YouTube takes you through the gilet step by step.
About the pattern
Vendla is a relaxed-fit reversible gilet for cooler days. The outer gilet has heart-shaped yokes on the front and back as well as large patch pockets. Decorative topstitching holds the wadding in place and gives the gilet its signature look. The lining-side gilet comes with a chest pocket and single welt pockets. A bust dart ensures a good fit. You can close it with either a zip or press studs.

Fabric & sizes
Fabric choice:
The pattern is designed for woven fabrics. The gilet is made of three layers: an outer fabric – ideally a hard-wearing, water-repellent outdoor fabric (e.g. synthetic wovens) – an insulating layer such as wadding (e.g. Thinsulate P80 for Central European winters), and a lining fabric such as a wool blend, teddy or fleece. Vendla looks especially lovely in oilskin.
